Easy Tune
After participating in an archery taster session at a hotel stay one weekend, I got bitten by the bug for archery. I followed this up with a course at our local archery club and that was it; I loved everything to do with archery. I bought a starter kit and before long, I felt that I needed a better kit to improve my skills. I then purchased my first ILF riser and limbs. When it came to setting up my kit, I found this quite frustrating. How do you know when your bow is correctly set up? When you don’t hit the target, is it you, or is it that you’ve not set your kit up properly? There didn’t seem to be a lot of options to help with this, other than ‘stick these plastic clips on, stand well back and close one eye’ to very expensive gizmos with no instructions or endorsements as to whether they actually work.
I decided to create an alignment tool to make sure that everything was properly set up for accuracy and therefore allowing archers to concentrate on their own form.
USES
The Bowen Easy Tune Alignment Tool allows you to easily and precisely align your ILF limbs, riser, string and sights, (without expert help or years of experience, by eye or laboriously taking a photo, adjusting and taking another photo and so on until you get it right or you get so fed up that you accept near enough!) The alignment of your bow is something that will be required several times as you progress and build up your strength and technique and move onto heavier limbs.
The Bowen Easy Tune Alignment Tool is designed to fit most ILF recurve bows, any size, right or left-handed as long as it utilises hex headed ILF/tiller bolts top and bottom.
It is supplied as standard with a clamp to fasten it to either a work bench or with suitable protection a table (Not glass) up to 80mm thick. No special bow clamp is required. It is easy to assemble and dismantle for storage without any tools.
Furthermore, you can add the Tuning Aid to the Alignment Tool.
When you start shooting beyond 40/50 yards, fine tuning of the bow will then be required to get better arrow grouping.
If using a long rod as a reference point for the alignment of arrows (centre shot) it could make arrow flight untrue as long rods are notorious, irrespective of cost, for not being true. Adjustment of sights, pressure buttons and plenty of practice will overcome this, however if the bow is then professionally tuned or you change your long rod it will be like starting all over again! The Easy Tune Tuning Aid will allow you to check the straightness and fit of a long rod but more importantly, independently and accurately align the arrows, correctly position the button and nock point.
